"You don't want to show up at the costume party in plain clothes, right?" - Dipanjan Chatterjee, Forrester.
Yes, everyone got the memo and AI was mentioned by almost every company/product at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) this week. In some cases – it was truly AI, while in others - it was a rebranding from what was “smart” in late 2010s to now, “AI”. Of course, there were visionary keynotes from Nvidia, AWS and others – which I can summarize; but for now, here are 10 ‘out there’ products that were showcased this year: 1. Swarovski Optik AX Visio: Binoculars with built-in AI that can identify over 9,000 species of birds, mammals, butterflies, and dragonflies. 2. Motion Pillow: a pillow that uses AI to help tackle snoring problems by slowly inflating airbags to lift heads and open airways. 3. Withings BeamO: All-in-one health gadget that uses AI to assess and provide comprehensive health insights. 4. Bmind Smart Mirror: Feeling stressed? This mirror analyzes your facial expressions and suggests personalized mindfulness exercises to boost your mood. 5. Ballie – Samsung’s household assistant robot that uses AI to move around and do things. 6. Samsung Refrigerator – fridge uses AI vision to keep your grocery list updated, identify what's inside, and even suggest delicious recipes based on your ingredients. 7. Minitailz Smart Dog Collar: uses AI to help you better understand what your dog needs and can detect early signs of heart failure. 8. Nimble Manicure – AI-powered manicure device that works like a Nespresso machine (insert fingers, not pods). 9. Rabbit R1 – AI assistant that eliminates the need for lengthy prompts or to find the right apps to get the task you need done. 10. Timekettle X1 Intepreter Hub – a device you can carry around that shows live translation for up to 40 languages. ~AI was not used to author this post :)~ -- ✦ If you had to get one, which one would you get? If none of the above, what’s a device (AI application) you wish existed?
